Why You Shouldn't Believe Big Pharma's Hype About Cholesterol

When we launched our dedicated blog The Cholesterol Truth, back in November last year, we had absolutely no idea how huge the response would be from our readers… Neither did we realise the extent to which the side effects of cholesterol-lowering drugs, like statins, were ruining so many peoples' lives.

Real people with real concerns

What gets to me the most, is that Big Pharma continues heartlessly with its mass statin marketing campaign…and won't stop until everyone on the planet is taking their money-spinning little pills.

The fact that cholesterol is seen as public enemy number one is a myth! Yet Big Pharma's message is so convincing that some media sources have now even started to refer to cholesterol as a disease! When in truth it's an essential natural substance that your body needs in order to function properly!

Luckily, more and more research is coming to light revealing the dangers linked to these drugs. Here at the Daily Health we are dedicated to exposing the truth about cholesterol and statins so you can make informed choices about the drugs you are being told to take.

Judging by the amount of emails we receive everyday from concerned readers, we realise that behind this drug-pushing travesty countless people's lives are being affected. Take Maria, for instance, who wrote to us earlier this month:

    " I have for 20 years kept my cholesterol levels at a satisfactory balance by eating super foods, and using garlic, ginger, cinnamon ( pure root ginger and cinnamon powder - not capsules), plus B vitamins, omega 3 flaxseed or fish oils and co Q10 on a daily basis as all of these lower total cholesterol. However, my weekly INR blood tests show that warfarin is not thinning my blood enough and as well as upping the dose all the time I have been forbidden green vegetables, I even have to peel green apples!! What they really want me to do is drop all my nutritional supplements so that they can raise my cholesterol and force me onto statins. It appears that all of these cholesterol lowering foods and vitamins should be avoided when on warfarin, as should cranberry juice and many other good healthy things. The mainstream wants everyone on statins regardless of the price in the form of side effects and they do not accept that most supplements are beneficial for other th ings as well as maintaining cholesterol balance."


Keeping you posted

In the past few months The Cholesterol Truth has revealed how statins can cause your blood sugar levels to rise, which in turn can lead to a diabetes diagnosis; and how driving your cholesterol levels too low increases your risk of dying from cancer!

We were one of the first to report on the results of a study, which concluded that there is no "strong evidence" to suggest that statins reduce coronary heart disease deaths among those who have not suffered a heart attack or other cardiovascular event in the past. The researchers urged doctors to take caution when prescribing these drugs… judging by what Maria wrote, the mainstream hasn't taken this message to heart yet!

Whilst it might seem that the battle against Big Pharma won't be easily won, it's encouraging to know that our daily alerts and weekly blog posts on The Cholesterol Truth, make a difference.

    "I have recently been taken off Simvastatin tablets after taking them for 4 years. They caused problems with my breathing and a permanent cough and more seriously over the last few months muscle fatigue in a big way.
