From Jen Hubley, your About Today Editor
ID theft is one of my worst nightmares. For this reason, I have created an entirely fake persona for this newsletter. There is no Jen Hubley. I am actually a 19-year-old guy living in test facility in Antarctica. Take that, identity thieves! (OK, not really.)

7 Signs of ID Theft
A few friends of mine have suffered through the ID theft dealie, and as a result, I'm now hyper vigilant. I'm that person who calls the bank to make sure her accounts are really her accounts. They just love me in customer service.

How ID Theft Happens
ID theft can happen through something as old school as wallet-grab, or as high tech as a data breach.

The 7 Types of ID Theft
I never thought of the seventh kind of ID theft listed here: Child ID theft. It seem particularly mean to steal the credit of someone who won't even be using it for another decade or so.

How to Protect Yourself From ID Theft
Even the most careful consumer can find themselves the victim of ID theft, but there are a few things that you can do to minimize your risk. Some of them - don't hand bank cards directly to waiters - will surprise you.
